The body of the newborn was found “cut up, in a backpack, in his room”, according to the Bobigny prosecutor’s office. A 21-year-old young woman is suspected of having killed and then cut up the baby she had just given birth to on Sunday evening, in the accommodation she shares with her parents in Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis).
The prosecution was not yet able to determine who if it is a denial of pregnancy. The young woman was placed in police custody for intentional homicide by ascending of a minor under the age of 15.
The parents of the suspect present
Upon arriving at this pavilion in Stains, police officers came across the severed body of a newborn baby, according to a police source. It was a couple of friends of the suspect who informed the police. They learned, by contacting her by telephone, that the young woman had just given birth alone to a child, stillborn according to her, whom she threatened to cut out, according to the same source.
The parents of the suspect were present in the accommodation at the time of her arrest, according to the prosecution, which was not yet able to establish their possible responsibilities or knowledge of the infanticide.
