The young 21-year-old Korean student, brain dead after a serious scooter accident in Lyon, died during the night from Friday to Saturday, reports Progress.
Last Tuesday, the young woman, who was returning from an evening spent with a friend, was riding an electric scooter on the Montée de Choulans, in the 5th arrondissement, when she lost control of the machine. She then fell heavily and ended up hitting the back of a tanker truck.
According to information from the local daily, it appears that the victim, who was participating in a language program in France, died due to his injuries resulting from his fall, and not because of the impact with the heavy goods vehicle. The ongoing investigation should make it possible to determine the exact circumstances of the accident as well as the reasons for the loss of control of the vehicle. Alcohol and drug tests were negative for both the student and the truck driver.
