“2022 – The first cartoon yearbook”: The Hamburg humor regulars’ table takes a look ahead

It must have been legendary evenings when they got together: Under the name “Hamburger Strich”, a group of cartoonists formed in the Hanseatic city in 2019 and met for a happy get-together over Greek.

Those present are all renowned artists: They draw for nationally known newspapers and magazines such as star, “Titanic”, “Eulenspiegel”, “Spiegel”, “FAZ”, the “taz” and other publications. They have won the most important awards in their industry, including the German Caricature Prize and the German Cartoon Prize. One can well imagine that elevated nonsense was born on those evenings. And joint ideas and projects emerged.

“2022 – The first cartoon yearbook” is the fourth work

Three publications have already emerged from the group: “The best cartoonists in the city”, “Corona cartoons from quarantine” (both 2020) and “The great freedom – cartoons for after Corona” (2021, all published by KJM Buchverlag).

The group currently consists of 16 participants. And they have teamed up again and combined their drawings into a new type of work: “2022 – The First Cartoon Yearbook” has just been published and takes a look at what we can expect in the next eleven months.

The draftsmen include Maren Amini, Bettina Bexte, Henning Christiansen, Tim Oliver Feicke, Kai Flemming, Teja Fischer, Katharina Greve, Huse, Dorthe Landschulz, Piero Masztalerz, Til Mette, Jan Rieckhoff, Wolfgang Sperzel, Tobias Schülert, Tetsche, Miriam Wurster .

They each bring their own point of view and give a humorous outlook on the future between vaccination chaos, church scandal and the usual everyday madness.

“2022 – The First Cartoon Yearbook” was published by KJM Buchverlag at the end of January and costs 20 euros. More on the publisher’s website
