A cocoon-style room
This year, the house thinks of itself as a cocoon. Materials and colors: nothing is left to chance, especially not in the bedroom. In addition to the choice of colors, we therefore take care of the finishes, and matt and velvet are more essential than ever.
If we still dare the monochrome color, we then take care to work the materials. For a Japandi spirit, we bet on wood, for example. We also play with textiles and furniture to add a colorful note.
This season, however, we prefer to combine different colors, and we do not hesitate to be a little daring by imagining a graphic decoration. If you are worried about going wrong, opt for the association of two complementary colors.
If we still like deep colors, we choose them a little less dark than in previous seasons. Above all, we take care to balance the contrasts: in the bedroom, in particular, we like them less pronounced. We therefore prefer the ecru color to pure white.
The other unmissable trend of the year is the shades, which quite simply consists of declining a single color by playing on its intensity: a bias that creates a cozy aesthetic ideal for the bedroom.
What colors for the bedroom in 2022?
Neutrals and colors: if the color palette for the bedroom of the year is soft, it definitely does not lack variety or imagination!
Dulux Valentine has already announced its color of the year. Called Horizon Blue, this airy blue, slightly muffled with a hint of gray, is ideal in the bedroom. Fresh and peaceful, it creates an atmosphere deliciously conducive to rest. It is also rather smart if you fall for rattan: a material that it discreetly highlights.
If you fall for more intense colors, dare a darker blue. For a resolutely trendy bedroom, bet on the association with a terracotta or a burgundy.
Although green remains a safe bet in the bedroom, it too is light. We therefore fall for the soft nuances without hesitation: sage green or celadon green.
Want a decoration that raises the tone? In this case, adopt character greens such as khaki or olive green, which are more intense, but also terribly more subtle.
Although it is deep, emerald green is also very luminous: a feature that has earned it to remain trendy in the bedroom in 2022.
The big color trend 2022 is the palettes that evoke the earth. In the bedroom, we are particularly fond of brown, an elegant color whose symbolism refers to stability. To balance the decor, it is readily associated with a cold color – green or blue.
To discreetly illuminate the bedroom, you may prefer a more subtle shade, by opting for a brown that is tinted with ocher or amber notes.
Japandi spirit, Nordic inspiration, Mid-Century decor or a chic countryside atmosphere: beige has the advantage of adapting to all decorative desires. Elegant, cozy and bright, it is one of the trendiest colors for bedrooms in 2022.
Between earth and sun, ocher yellow invites itself into the bedroom. Beware of too marked contrasts: to bring brightness to the decor, we forget the white, and we opt instead for ecru, cream or beige.
The other hot color that is on the rise this season is powder pink. In the bedroom, we fall for shades that are slightly clayey or drawing on the color terracotta.
Far from being a newcomer, especially in the bedroom, the terracotta color confirms that this year again, it will have to be reckoned with. That’s good, because ecru, gray blue or ocher yellow: it goes perfectly with some of the most essential colors of the moment!
Decorative colors
This year, color is working more than ever in its entirety. In addition to the walls of the bedroom, we therefore take care of textiles and furniture, to create a truly trendy palette.
Red has already been knocking on our doors for a few seasons. This season, he seems determined to win. We love the crimson red, which subtly energizes the bedroom decor.
The year 2022 marks the return of the color lilac. This pale purple invites itself more particularly in the textile world: carpets, curtains or bed linen.
Among the major trends of the year, we note the return of acid colors, which awaken our interiors. In the bedroom, a space dedicated to rest, they remain to be handled with care. We therefore adopt lemon yellow or apple green in small touches, playing with the bed linen.
Orange is one of the colors of character that nicely tweak the decor of the bedroom. We love a coppery variation, easy to associate with lilac or blue.
Indigo blue is shaping up to be one of the essential colors of the year. In the bedroom, we particularly like it in association with the aubergine color.
