16-year-old boy dies on Courchevel ski slope

A 16-year-old boy died on Saturday morning following an accident in the ski resort of Courchevel Moriond, in Savoie. The boy, who was skiing with his father, fell on a blue run, that of the “big bumps”.

Emergency services were called around 10:14 a.m. indicated The Dauphine Libere. Three minutes later, they were there, trying to resuscitate the teenager who, unconscious, was airlifted to Chambéry hospital. He died there shortly after being taken into care.

The speed involved?

The speed could be to blame. The boy would have been surprised by a bump and would have fallen heavily, advances the regional daily. “He was probably going fast, he would have lost control”, confirms the mayor of Courchevel, on France Bleu Pays de Savoie. An investigation has been opened to try to find out more about the exact circumstances of this accident.
