The origins of face line art

Line art is a technique consisting of drawing a pattern, figurative or not, with a single line. It can be done with a brush, marker, pencil, or even charcoal. This feature gives it both great simplicity and a nice dynamism.

The line art technique is not new. It was particularly prized by artists such as Matisse and Picasso. However, it’s only been a few seasons that line art has been invited into our interiors, and it is now almost essential. And if it makes it possible to create a flower as well as a landscape or a non-figurative drawing, it is indeed face line art that wins all the votes.

Face line art is therefore the representation of a face in a brushstroke. Designers have, however, seized on it to create interesting variants in wire or even wood.

In which room to adopt face line art?

Face line art is available on an infinite number of supports: textiles, paper, ceramics… It can therefore find its place in almost any room in the house.

Resolutely arty without being extravagant, face line art immediately brings a touch of refinement to the decor. Especially since if it is exhibited in large (or even very large!) format, it also knows how to be discreet. We do not hesitate to adopt it in very small spaces, such as the entrance. We then fall for a relatively compact decoration, such as the wired statue, which we simply place on the console.
