A fire in a cowshed in the Ostallgäu district caused damage estimated at 1.5 million euros. Only 8 of the approximately 150 calves and cattle were rescued from the stable, the police reported.
A total of 160 emergency services rushed to the scene of the fire in Untrasried on Monday night and prevented the fire from spreading to a nearby residential building. The family living there was not injured.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire. There was a photovoltaic system on the roof of the stable.
