12-year-old boy kidnapped near Lens, “kidnapping alert” plan triggered

A 12-year-old child named Hamza was kidnapped Friday evening in Fouquières-lès-Lens (Pas-de-Calais) causing the trigger this Saturday morning of the “kidnapping alert” plan, announced the Ministry of the Interior.

“Hamza, boy, 12 years old, 1.50 m, mat complexion, brown with black eyes, dressed in gray pajamas, a blue sweater and a black coat, was kidnapped in Fouquières-lès-Lens 27 rue Pasteur, December 17, 2021 around 7:30 pm ”, according to the ministry. The father is suspected of being the kidnapper.

The father intercepted a few days ago at the airport

Placed as part of the separation of his parents since Tuesday by decision of a children’s judge, the child lives with maternal assistance, a police source and the Béthune prosecutor’s office told AFP in a press release. The father allegedly abducted his son “without any violence”, according to the police source. The child left “voluntarily” with him, said another police source.

A few weeks ago, the father was “intercepted at the airport while he was preparing to flee outside the European Union, despite a measure prohibiting him from taking his son abroad”, according to the prosecution in his press release. “He thus appears determined in his project and potentially dangerous,” added the prosecution.

An abandoned white Renault Twingo vehicle

This 40-year-old man, 1.73 m, 110 kg and with a shaved head, initially used a white Renault Twingo vehicle registered CR-919-TP, found abandoned in Hénin-Beaumont. He would be likely to drive now in a dark station wagon and seek to leave the national territory, according to the message of the ministry.

“If you locate the child or the suspect, do not intervene yourself, immediately call 197 or send an email to: [email protected]”, he asks.
