11-year-old plays with the Foo Fighters – Panorama

As an adult, you can be ashamed of the music you heard as a teenager. You just didn’t know any better, the main thing was out loud. Nandi Bushell, on the other hand, has a pretty solid taste in music – even though she’s not even a teenager.

The eleven-year-old from Ipswich, England, loves rock classics that are significantly older than herself. “The 90s seemed to have been a fun time musically,” writes Nandi on Twitter. She started playing drums when she was five. Her father was not particularly enthusiastic at first, as he once said in an interview. “My first thought was: it will be loud.” It did, but it turned out damn good too. Nandi’s drum cover versions of famous songs have been hit millions of times Youtube viewed. Apparently also from the really big ones.

Your Twitter profile reads like a who’s who of the rock scene. “Wow, that’s great,” writes Linkin Park there, “You are the best”, writes the drummer of the metal band Slipknot. Applause from the British rock band too muse and from the bass player of the Red hot chili peppers. Nandi, the child prodigy who can play electric guitar, electric bass, saxophone and piano in addition to drums, was the youngest person ever to be featured on the cover of the US trade journal Modern drummer.

Now Nandi was even allowed to perform with her idol in California. Singer Dave Grohl, 52, former drummer for Nirvana, had an appearance with his Foo fighters after beating him in an online drum competition. Nandi’s father filmed the performance. This time it was he who was loud: cheering in the background.
